Many, many people are experiencing climate anxiety, grief and other emotions related to climate change, but have not had the opportunity to feel safe sharing these feelings with others.
To address this issue, the Climate Conversations Task Group (part of the UCA Synod of NSW/ACT Climate Action Strategy) have been working on a Climate Conversations Resource and Facilitators Guide for church members to use to host a climate conversation at their church with church members and/or the wider community.
These conversations are not group therapy, and are designed to be led by non-professionals, but they are an opportunity to share feelings of climate anxiety and affirm that you are not alone in these feelings.
The Task Group are hosting a run-through of the resource as part of the Climate Pastoral Care Conference at 3pm on Thursday 30th of July. This will be an opportunity to experience the flow of the conversation, offer feedback and suggestions, and consider whether you would like to host a climate conversation in your own community.
