Mass Rallies

National Climate Rally
May 15th- alternative actions announced

Although Climate Disruption remains the single biggest threat to us and our non-human neighbours, the student climate strike movement has opted to protect people’s immediate safety by cancelling the physical rallies on May 15th.

Instead, the event is going online. Please click here to learn more and take action!

Please sign up below (even if you did in September) to join our email list so we can keep you up to date with this, and any other areas of climate action within the church which you have a passion for.

If you get the error that you have already subscribed, just follow the link to update your details.

Task Groups you would like to hear from/join

The Uniting Church NSW.ACT was the first major institution to endorse the global school strike for climate.  See why we are supporting the student strikers, and read this great letter from the Principal of Newington College in support.

See also why we support scientifically credible, morally responsible climate action generally.

In September 2019, Uniting Church members and Uniting staff rallied in response to the Synod’s resolution to support urgent climate action, and especially young people in their call for inter generational justice.

Hundreds of church members gathered for worship at Pitt St in Sydney, before joining about 80 Uniting staff in the march down to the public rally of 80,000.  Members and staff in other locations around the state also joined in, including in Coffs Harbour, where Rev. Dr Jason John, one of Uniting’s Earth Advocates, addressed the crowd.
