Nov29 Sit-in
“thoughts and prayers” are not enough

The Uniting Church NSW.ACT was the first major institution to endorse the school climate strike. See why here.
Now we are calling on our members to join the next global strike4climate by sitting, not marching!
The tendency of our Government’s leaders to call for “thoughts and prayers” rather than climate action is bringing the church into disrepute, so we want to make sure that people see the church participate on November 29th.
Find the location nearest you here, then grab a banner, placard or t-shirt to show Australians Christians do want climate action now!
Now is exactly the time to talk about climate change, and the role of increasing average temperatures in fuelling the bushfire apocalypse. So on the 29th we will sit shoulder to shoulder outside the offices of our politicians and fossil fuel companies across Australia and hear from those on the frontline of the climate crisis. We’ll also donate to support those impacted by and fighting the fires.
What to do:
Find your nearest sit-in at https://www.schoolstrike4climate.com/bushfires
Grab this powerpoint slide to promote the sit-in at your church
Bring your banners, t-shirts, and a cushion!
